The Strawberry Love Mountain story… USST Nacra 17 coach, @tomsailing, is a 2x Olympian in the Nacra for Austria and a Rio 2016 Bronze Medalist 🥉 who only recently transitioned from campaigning athlete to coach.
While on the circuit himself, he and other international Nacra sailors coined nicknames for Sarah and David: Sarah Newberry became “Strawberry” and Liebenberg translates directly to “Love Mountain” in German.
Last December we brought the nicknames to life in a design as a gift to @usa50racing and turned it into a small run of t-shirts and stickers. The stickers hang out on their gear box and on their mast and are a nice reminder of a funny inside joke, but now you’re in on the joke too 😉
